The engine is a Great Plains VW 2180.  I added the external oil filter and remoted the oil cooler to the bottom of the engine.  The engine only had about 120 hours on it when I go the plane, but I called previous owners after I bought it and heard that the person who sold it to the person I bought it from had a prop strike.   He denied it, but I wasn't going to take a chance and I wanted it machined for the Force 1 hub anyway.  I sent the crank out to be magnafluxed and they told me that it had the biggest crack through the keyway they had ever seen.  Now I have a newly rebuilt engine that was nearly new before I rebuilt it.

This picture shows the twin outlet tower for the oil filter and the reason the oil filter was moved.  I would never do this again.  I would up redoing the cowl and half of the baffels when I should have left the oil cooler on top and putting the oil filter outlet near the pump or not doing the filter at all.  I have a ton of time and money in this mod, but live an learn.

Here is the new location for the oil cooler.  I welded aluminum cylinders on the oil cooler so I could thread in the AN fittings.  The oil filter was pressure tested to 200 PSI after it was welded.

I added a fuse holder and the shunt for the amp meter.  I have put a plastic guard on the shunt recently.

This is the tee for the primer.  Part of the voltage regulator is on the left.  The stator was changed from the standard 20A alternator with the Diehl case to a 25A one that he had custom made a long time ago and never used.  It is the only one in existance and I had to machine the mounting surface in the accessory case because it is thicker than the stock one.  The orange tube is the crankcase vent line.  I have added a grommet to the hole in the baffel.

Here is some of the wiring in the engine compartment.  All of the wiring in the plane is Tezfel insulated aircraft wire.  I had a wire smoke in my truck one time and I nearly crashed after taking one breath full of insulation smoke.   I won't have that happen to me in an airplane.
